@damo2353 It’s a medical term which generally is taken to mean ‘preventative’. A condom, for instance, is called a prophylactic because you use it to prevent catching nasties.

@damo2353 It means precautionary. Like when you move a pawn to prevent back row mates from happening several moves down the road. You prevent the damage from happening rather than trying to repair the damage.
In a future video could you please give a quick explanation and examples on what “prophylactic” means. I remember reading about it in My System but I don’t think I understood it then and I don’t now.
isn’t it usually e5 Nd7 and then taking the “good” blacks bishop for whites “bad” one?! and after Qxe7 then play Qg4, or even Qh5 as mentioned in john watsons dangerous weapons,
