I purchased this exact same chess set at less than half the price a couple of years ago. At $20-$25, it’s good value. But $50 is exhorbitant for the quality. The cheap plastic interior holders ended up being useless, so I just removed them, and let the pieces sit loose inside when stored. Otherwise a decent chess set, but again, good value only at half the price.

I was looking for a present, that’s why my choice was for more expensive set. But this one should costs $15-17, not $50!
Chess board is great, European style with characters and numbers, pretty big and comfortable to play.
Chess figures need more polish, they look like they’ve been washed several times or soaked for a long time.
The green base was the biggest frustration, it’s feels like rigid plastic, looks cheap and doesn’t hold figures.

Very poor quality, very few of the green felt bases look like they will stay on. Cheap plastic piece holder means pieces do not stay in place in box. Generally very poor quality. and not cheap at over $60.
